What do they mean with "reference bike", is that the same as prototype?
I guess it's not ready for production then is it?

From reading between the lines this is not a release of a new bike nor is it a concept release...

Off into the distance with agility and strength... Leaping forward in an instant
A wild mix of tough, reliable cutting-edge technology and functional beauty. Tightly wrapped like the form of adventure itself, an image of wind in agile motion.
Decked in state-of-the-art technologies like traction control, anti-lock brake system (ABS) and unified brake system (UBS), this objet is created to summon up images of journeys of adventure like none you have known until now.

taken from yamaha wesite.

That helps alot.... not

I luv the see through engine, the open pipes and what looks like shaft drive.

This is just a teaser concept jobby to see how much interest is generated and will bear no resemblance to the finished article if there is one!!!!!

There I was getting all excited about what I should ask the wife to buy me for my 50th.

the artwork on the www.super-tenere.com website gives the idea behind the headgear theme a bit better... :badgerrock:
